Moving Day

As of today, my blog is going to be at www.emily-hendricks.com/blog and will be hosted by WordPress and not Blogger. I am working on transferring my current url (www.helpimarriedasocialist.com) so it will redirect, but that's going to take like a week to get it approved.

Okay, so why am I doing this? WordPress has more features that will work with my business website, it's cleaner to work with, has nicer templates and it's overall just a much better option, to me, anyway.

It's also an "opening a new chapter in life" thing. I have a friend that had a blog for years talking about her freelance work and writing in general. Then she sold her first book and she decided that it was time to close her blog to reflect the new chapter in her life and her career. I'm pretty much doing the same.

This blog will remain here for posterity, but it will no longer be added to.

Becoming Overwhelmed

 I love my job, please don't get me wrong here. I am fortunate that I can do what I want to do for a living. It doesn't have the best steady income, I know that; nor does it have a whole hell of alot of stability. But it's my dream job, something that I'm building slower than I originally anticipated because I'm still recovering from the whole next to death experience.

 Here's what sucks about being my own business - I'm my own everything, right down to my own accountant. Eventually that will be a hired out task because dealing with numbers is not really my strong suit.

 I'm taking the rest of January to sort some things out and to come up with a business game plan, much better than the one I have, so I can be more efficient, more productive and not pull out most of my hair.
